Faith to journey

  1. “The proportion of people in Britain who describe themselves as having no religion is at its highest ever level.”
  2. “More than half (53%) of the British public now describe themselves as having ‘no religion’”
  3. “71% of young people aged 18-24 said they had no religion (up 9% in just one year).”

faith journey from
 a time loved by many

CAN YOU DESCRIBE YOURSELF AS SPIRITUAL.....IS THAT WHAT A LOT OF PEOPLE DO?
Many don't say l am a Christian
Followers of Jesus playing head games.
Claiming Spiritual above direct faith ID
But either way we are just not relevant and need
some hard thinking,
hard talking,
hard sharing,
Deconstruction.
faith journeying,
prayers and silence to ponder...reflect...ACT.

hold on

never forget that

theology is simply

how you and l

make sense of God

if my faith does not give me hope on a day
when others are happy and l am not
if there is no hope when the challenges of life feel heavy
if l struggle and feel beaten
if then my faith is of no hope
then it not worth holding

me and that` social literacy wheel`

Bullying, mocking or intimidation towards person on the basis of their Christian faith is unacceptable and needs to be recognised as such.
Except it often blown out into persecution

 .    .  ..  ... well its not  . . .it just life . . . .
`social literacy circle`

has these opt -- on`s

conversations ...small talk...sharing view...disclosing topics
disagreements      .. challenge .. development . .  concentration
all part of the social literary circle

In the 'bonnie highlands' of scotland someone's suggesting intolerance toward brothers in Jesus

’Intolerance’

. . . .On the subject of Christain bullying in the schools of the highlands,(very surprised if true)!
Well it not been lone since l departed Escorsia. But things can not change all this much
I am wary that there May be a bit of politics in the below comments . . .

Maybe it time for me to get on my trusty station saddle up and head back  . . . ?' thataways'

Free Church of Scotland minister Revd Alasdair Macleod agreed. He believes there is a ‘growing problem of intolerance’ towards Christian pupils.

He said: “It feels to me that schools are becoming an increasingly hostile environment for Christian pupils, and this hostility must stop.

“Bullying, mocking or intimidation towards pupils on the basis of their Christian faith is unacceptable and needs to be recognised as such.

“Until this happens, many pupils and their families will continue to be reluctant to speak out.”

. . . .Bullying appears to be so evident . . But we are a long way from very much more then that

Let's get proper perspective on this issue wonder sometimes about faith press around Christianty  . .

love . . .it not like in a song

We rolled across the high plains

Deep into the mountains.
Felt so good to me,
Finally feelin' free.

Stopped in a bar to have a brew
Met a girl and we had a few drinks.
And I told her what I'd decided to do.

She looked out the window a long long moment.
Then she looked into my eyes
She didn't have to say a thing.

( Most songs often come across ,well painfully honest, center on the theme of relationships that fall apart,)

I too am lost, I feel double-crossed and I’m sick of what’s wrong and what’s right.

Somewhere along a high road.
The air began to turn cold. She said she missed her home.
I headed on alone.

I saw a young hawk flying’ and my soul began to rise
And pretty soon
My heart was singing’
Bob Seger - Roll Me Away

Still heading in one direction, still alone !

words like `heart` `soul`

The fans are disillusioned and can’t see a way out of this current predicament.
Slowly over the course of the past two years the heart has been taken out of the club.
It’s not been quick, it’s been an agonising slow operation which piece by piece has taken away
the heart and soul of the club and right now, fans are wondering is it going to ever get better!

They are just talking about soccer club, However it relates also to life, perhaps how we may be
experiencing things at present. OFTEN words such as `heart` `soul` .
Also sentences,
` like heart ripped out`
`it going to get better`
The emotion with the drama where sport/entertainment/life collide
mesh up fusion like also music.
Pursuant maybe its this style, not that style
gospel cannot be `RnB` but it soulful and uplifting
gospel can not be dance yet it got such a great beat

life being lived at present is a great challenge
but my journey tells me `l been this way before`!
yes it tougher, unsure about tomorrow, but this l will say
 . . . God is with me.....

Faith is not some week knee response to good times and the plenty
. .it about the whole of the stuff.
The whole of the stuff that makes up life

Looking back . . .longing feeling strange

Took my first residential at Cayton bay back in 1986
although been before it took a new meaning when l was in charge

Like them . . before myself,  we found visiting new place brought some fears.
                      but so many joys
We grew at a funny pace
      Learnt about trusting
Those far off days . . . . . God felt closer
There was No TV or social media
We played rounders and such games for hours                                       late at nite in the sun
Sat around a fire after cooked meal
             Walked so much
Talked at great depth

Opened up to each other as relationship developed.
We never went back the same people!
As l grew older and more Responsibility grew in my position,
discovered different vital meaning, to these Times away.
Many times the staff as we are called and the users  . . all felt one.
One group
One journey
One hope
One in the challenges

Yesterday Looked sadly out across this bay,
the view  . . . ., longing for yesterday  . . .?

MEANWHILE BACK IN MY FORMER POSTAL

People in Easington Colliery, though, talk instead about the closure, last year, of another significant employer - the Walkers crisps factory in Peterlee, and the recent introduction of Universal Credit meaning some claimants have had to go weeks without benefits. Things appear to be getting worse, in many ways, rather than better.

If he a bum how come he perfect

This day . .this faith l hold is reconstructing

How We moved to deliver a blow in boxing was crucial to the energy spent

The movement of your sparring partner and the study of his movements was important

Like the Practice in the gym

Work outs further training and dedication.  All vital.

Old ways appear to have been lost it not about
just climbing in the ring  . . .but about the science of the sport

A new constructing happened, the sport changed as l am no longer involved do not really care!

Same is true of the faith l hold

We are in a reconstruction period a lot is changing

How we move in this society is important

How we commit ourselves in the community's we are placed

The bible was written over a Period of thousand years

But In that collection of books still some vital truths . . . Like justice, challenging oppression, love, relationships

May 8, 2018

You could politely knock . . .

"The Egyptians, the Greeks, the Romans, and the Hebrews all recognized the sanctity of places of worship as refuges for the pursued: The long arm of the law stopped at the threshold of the temple."

There was a NO Knocking on the door

The beach sometimes it not the safe place you wish

Sanctuary from hot weather with cold walk in a pool along the coast

Yet ponder  . .seek answers in my heart ..reflect . .offer up patient choices . .prayer

                                 Still my heart feels sad

The son will rise as each day begins . . .But how do l great the son

Christians are the world’s most persecuted religious group, according to studies Christians and other Non-Muslim minorities throughout the Muslim world are being persecuted for being non-Muslims. The Christian community in Iraq and Syria was completely annihilated by radical Muslims, anyone who could not escape and refused to convert to Islam was executed. The Western world ignores the cruel persecution of Christians in the Muslim world. Where are all the human rights organizations of the UN? Where are all human rights organizations in the West? Please pray for the Christian minorities in the Muslim world.

What happens when
 the footprints in the sand
are same ones you made yesterday

May 2, 2018

Our existence is for what reason

Most of the time........lack human worth

Most of the time we got our hands in each other's pockets

That what wrong here

We place little value on Human worth

What l see tells myself and few others

That the 'liberal social' experiment has not worked

Got money in tax mans pocket for transgender issues but nothing for the homeless and the sick

You can get paid to have a sex change

But if your hearts in need of surgery

You are on your own..........

“And the Master said their faith was Gonna make them mountains move But me, I tremble like a hill on a fault line Just at the thought of how I lost you Oh, we are not as strong as we think we are”

“And the Master said their faith was
Gonna make them mountains move
But me, I tremble like a hill on a fault line
Just at the thought of how I lost you
Oh, we are not as strong as we think we are”

The artist of this was a killer

The art work below was done by a damaged guy
Not quite a Van Gogh damaged guy but still . . . .perhaps worse
He was a killer
Fled Rome Sicily and ended up in Malta
Got involved in knife crime
Had to paint such scenes seeking redemption
It said  . . .he could paint scenes of 'death and despair '
due to his own emotions because of drama he knew

Still LIFE all around us are full of drama... around us what needs redeeming in our life,?
what can our own dramas teach those who know us?

life is . . .from the 'spiritofthestreets'

Some days l go without meat eating eggs cheese etc..around four days
One day week have fish
Two days week often chicken

Try hard to combat this heart failure issue to best own abilities

Problem is we used to work in this country we used to make stuff . .go out for a wage..
Life was fairer
Life was better
Life was simpler
Someone said --"when internet buddleburst we will see things change"
That's not rocket science . . I think life is more creul harsh and human worth is not what it should be!

For what it worth!
Life is windy
Life is cold
Life is silent at present

The sandbox where we kept all our childhood things is now a 'place of longing', for some.
It hurts to walk past homeless person
It hurts to walk around a drugged up Zombie person in middle of the city standing statues like.
white foam running from mouth. . .still . .empty . .unaware . .
What becoming of our society?

Life is not so valued

Apr 29, 2018

Another week of poverty in UK on the increase

Time for us to stop talking
Writing and start earnest protest
Protest that shows other how uncomfortable others LIFES are
Take the fight onto the streets . . People are dieing people living in adjective hardship . .

It time for direct action

To much talking too many words written. . . Not enough action?

Apr 28, 2018

Stuck  . . . . here  . . .stuck at this moment

Trying to get out of a moment!

That stretching too far ahead

Wanting like  . .sometimes in the past . .  .wanting not to be `here but ahead of this moment` . . .

Here l remain . . .ahead.  Do not know . . .just feels a waste being here at present.

What happens when the footprints in the sand are ones you made yesterday? . .

Apr 27, 2018

Life is sometimes about sharing!

Sometimes a picture of a natural if not a common image

Cause myself to reflect on the unigue majesty and creative genius of a higher power

It says, the Bible,'consider the birds of the air

Your Heavenly Father cares more about you not one falls to the ground without God knowing' . . .

That's hard to fathom not one,(without God knowing)  . . that we are worth more  . .loved more

Someone doesn't love me as they not replying to my texts

As Winnie the Pooh once alluded 'some people text back others don't'

 . . . . . . . . .Cold wet gloomy and disconnected this day
 . . . .
How are you?
What is your current feelings?
Who are you missing!
Life is sometimes about sharing.

Apr 26, 2018

Prayer is an active, not passive responsive act.

Action which includes making others regret,
 wrong and hurtful actions against
 those sanctioned under callous legislation
lets stop feeling comfortable, It is time for Church
that means `followers of Jesus` to be active.

Are we communicating well!

One of the most important issues in life is this;-
 Are we communicating well!
It not just about the message we are transmitting.

But it more importantly about whether or not it being received.
.         .              .so  how am l today?
 . . .. ... ..How are you this morning?
Some people text to other making sure they are fine! what about yourself ?
.. ..... .....which then leads us to ask  . .
can we be honest with each other....if l say pastoral l do care and fail to hear your answer.
What does that say more about me...or is it about how you answered?

Apr 24, 2018

Urban inaction gets me angry

Over to @jrf_uk’s @jrfbrian on the need for urgent action. More & more people are struggling to get by. We need to put this right so everyone has a decent standard of living. It’s time for more safe, stable, low cost homes that homeless people have access to.

You keep saying urgent action and have for thirty years time for action and do not be fooled by the wrongly interpret of the words of Jesus ...by the sword..sometimes we have to chooses a hard way

We got to make a stand that may be risky and hurtful it may be costly
But enough
Enough
Enough
Wringing our hands
Useless platitudes
Weak voices
Action which includes making others regret wrong and hurtful actions against those sanctioned by ESA

COME ON ENOUGH OF WORDS AND FALSE UNDERSTANDINGS

most beautiful human sentence

One of the most beautiful human sentences is also a song . .they contain words
l like you often love to hear
me would love to hear them from miss hull BHP
they are ..."Hello it`s me..l been thinking of you many a time" . . .,

Community a common unity with others

The things that we may hold with others as dear and precious
Or simply we just share these things and only that is what we have in common with others
When it is developed and there is a coming together where perhaps in past there was not is a beautiful thing
We are not meant to live in isolation
It just the way our brokenness comes into place
that a social experiment that has little if any reward

Apr 22, 2018

Stuck here emotionaly

Sometimes.. like me, at present we get stuck
Stuck in this moment
Stuck in a moment
No matter how we try
We just can not get out of this moment

So draw on all your self skills
The internal stuff
Reflect on previous moments being stuck in a moment
Just can not get out of or away from that life
The life that is hard and not like the movies . . . . Life is sometimes simply stuck.....
Like the 45 rpm single playing over and over again on the turntable of life . . .
Unlike the record player life does not present a reject button . . .just gotta get thru this

It's mad

FT: Bristol City 5 HCafc 5. The maddest Hull City game I have ever seen and will ever see.

It's a Mad world

Poverty on increase  little being stated by opposition groups

It's a mad world

Loneliness is a modern killer

It's a mad world

Fewer jobs in youth community work

It's a mad mad Mad world

Churches empty as it exciled because the society Finds It irrelevant

Not that mad in this one instance

So what l did here was add some parsley, fresh tarragon to the rice
added on top half a sliced lime, with some oil and lemon juice.

For the salad l chopped up shallot, red onion, cucumber, tomatoes, grilled courgettes, parsley, and lime juice.

Have around four, even five, days a week with no meat.
Chose cheese and fish for protein.

Unhappy with all that

Swedish-born producer and DJ known as Avicii, who has performed a number of times in Malta, has been found dead in Oman.
Publicist Diana Baron said in a statement that the 28-year-old DJ, born Tim Bergling, was in Muscat, Oman.
"The family is devastated and we ask everyone to please respect their need for privacy in this difficult time," the statement said.

So many people die young this guy was not well known away from music scene but at28
At 26 he was told to slow down
What that about slow down at 26 in the DJ music scene

Drugs maybe an issue
Along Dale Winton who found life had no purpose rumoured took his own life
Imagine such luxury being so unhappy
Such fame then being so unhappy
The audertion and still so unhappy

Try being sanctioned without income be it limited prospects, living rural, then you will know struggle.

Imperfection guaranteed!

Spent last few days pondering and trying to move stuff around pastoral issue forward
You can only move things forward in relationships
If the other desire the same

When that not case it's pretty difficult,
I am talking about work relationship
The pace l desire is faster then those receiving my information.

So how to transmit better
More urgently
Keeping the relationship moving?

Time seldom goes at pace we wish
But it does not.... stay still!
Expect that the same in personal but out of touch in that area
Not likely to change.

Imperfection in our selves is always possible
Perfection in self not 100% possible.
Despite what you may think.

Life can be shape by wrong searches

Interesting have noticed how people like Mrs Hull B.H.P. Will go to great lengths,
spend large amounts of money, often cash they have not got,
further put a lot of attention with detail, trying to make themselves physically attractive to others.
However and some what ironically, it’s inner beauty that’s equally ,some might say more important;
Well agree it’s one of the main basis for a strong, healthy, lasting relationship.
We fool ourselves to think that all it takes but inner . . .that inside we develop character from...
the inner . . where Persons like my Mrs Hull BHP need to focus.
along with not being so self centred.

Life can be shaped by wrong searches
search for self satisfying and outward beauty.
Miss so much the attention needed to create inner beauty.

Like today been a airing out day on North east coast . .where at present temperature is 21. Spring cleaning tidying washing cleaning and very soon a walk . .

I have days often as much as 12 when l do not use the car
relax abit more adjust the pace of life around myself
That way l know doing all l can to be a support to others
As I ponder pray ...walk ..adjust . .time is slow at present praying for change...this is all part of the inner strength one needs to simply get through moments l appear fastened to at present

gut Annie change guv

Walking in a northern town
There are homeless people
Lady sat drinking alcohol talking to herself
Guy going down escalator swearing loudly with several bags in tore
People sat in doorways asking for money' gut Annie change guv' . . .

The streets are empty  . .
So many charity shops while further down the charity muggers target the students
Gang of skater boys stand chatting
Dog shit wiped up by owner
Life in a northern town ..
I am asking God where are you are you absent from these life's?
Why is there no chance for these people?
I feel old. . . . . Today yeah feel slightly unwell but that normal!
so glad not got long time . . .
Because being pretty honest here. . .it not nice
It not nice
IT NOT NICE  . . .Life in this northern town . .

It not nice and l feel defeated by this view  . . .

New frontiers and safe passage!

People often say they are a bridge into the community!

People tread .. 'walk over. . .climb across. . .trample on bridges'!

They then realises they do not mean what they first thought  . . .the words were different.

But they will argue the sentiment was what we aimed for . . . .again l say think it through.

Community and youth work not what it once was  . . .the radical follower of Jesus was often at the frontiers. These days we are not even active on duty. Manily due to funding but also conservative approach plus wrong methodology.

Approaches conquered the detached methods fell away.

Funders, agencies individually, people chose comfortable means to access community. Didn't work.

This is pretty deep.

Fantastic time at ferens art museum in Hull is the city of culture.
My home town city!
Where despite my efforts, do not have Vodafone coverage in various places.
This leaves one feeling cut of, oddly dragged away from society around oneself.
Not had many,'on my own', periods this year. In some discussion around pastoral issues also being a 'bit selfish' around involvement in another school related issue.
It's tough at present, but faith journeys are like that, as you who sojourner will testify.

Apr 9, 2018

Vodafone UK get your act together

Currently enjoying nine days of limited Vodafone coverage
Which at times is also NO coverage

The price of youkshire curds has gone up to wait for it £2-35

Waiting for a text to come from a BHP

It's freezing again

I need a winters jacket the caravan is cold  so fed up of heartache

The injustice of the system and poverty so very visible all around

All in all not  a good Monday

Apr 8, 2018

Look after you no one else will

This may not be news to you

It be hard to hear this but has to be stated

Look after the whole of you be kind to you, . . . .it hard to find anyone who may do this

I have tried but those who look after you are not common

Best take some time invest in you

Whatever the week ahead brings if you find one person who really cares about you . . .value them

Seeing the. Beauty through rose coulered glasses

And they let me hold on to the good times, good lines
The ones I used to hear when I held you
And they keep me from feeling so cheated, defeated
When reflections in your eyes show me a fool

Rose coulered glasses
Keep me from seeing the truth
Only seeing the beauty in others like you perhaps l need a pair of these when
Looking at others and relationships
Even when looking at the world . . .occassionly worth examining

Apr 5, 2018

Two types of watch tower both looking seaward

One above is from Hull used to be in east park the second below is from Valletta
In Malta sure l told my BHP friend about the above

Watchtowers are where we Can retreat from the world and observe
But can also retreat into a garden space or warm room and observe the world
Observe life
Observe passing issues
Observe world

You cannot retreat from the world . . . I wish you could but it still here
The issues
The life
The relationships.the Broken The healing That even you and l can bring to others
Watchtowers are good but we have to return to the world.

There is a time for you . . .keep your faith

There was a time when the world was enormous: spanning the vast, almost infinite boundaries of your neighborhood. The place where you grew up, where you didn’t think twice about playing on someone else’s lawn. The street was your territory that occasionally got invaded by a passing car. It was where you didn’t get called home until after it was dark. And all the people, and all the houses that surrounded you were as familiar as the things in your own room

Then life happened
We grew up
Got smart
Grew our hair
Moved away
Got poorer
The sandbox. . .like the park . .further the swings . .
Well we just stopped being grateful for them
Called it growing up

Forget Jesus  . .
Became busy . Unhappy
Forgot the friendship meaning
Got fatter
More intelligent
Moved even further away
Got sad
Lost our faith

Doesn't have to be that way
Keep the faith
Grow develop smile build sandcastles
Swim
Dance
but above all be you keep your faith

A story about the Good Samaritan.

Well it took me a while to work out what the image below was about it was in the street

On a Mediterranean island as Easter approached people look at the riches in art work placed

Along routes people would ramble but still near the Church that owns/holds the Pictures

It's pretty suttle

The way Father holds his estranged  returning son

The look on the other Brothers face

Unhappiness's of the other being not keen
on lost son return, go on then the animal not happy,  (fatted calf).

New clothes being carried towards the embraced child

What we may ask has this to do with Easter?

Grief.....lost son....fathers love....anger.....reunion . Mistrust

The social plus emotional literacy present . . . .

Sure you could add more please do . . . .let me know.

Guilty feet . . . And other issues

Listening to every number one of the 80's on smooth radio

While wonder about big issues

How small l appear in vast stuff going on

Had great time away

Now got to work well seek my mission in life

Back to restoring others and creating pastoral care for those in need

Includes myself but that for later.. . . .

. ..did you know" guilty feet have no rhythms" . .....'could have been so good together' easy to pretend . . . .wasted chance that l would give her . . .." WOW Wewas sad in the 80's . . .

Nice way to be ..

Some people just spend time thinking about the deeper stuff. It's just the way they are think for a while fact that they do this normal...

MAYBE WE WON`T MEET AGAIN

. . . she got a postcard in the mail
That just said Heaven, with a picture of the ocean and the beach
The simple words he wrote her
Said he loved her
How he'd hold her if his arms would reach
Wish you were here, wish you could see this place
Wish you were near,Wish I could touch your face
The weather's nice, it's paradise
It's summertime all year and there's some folks we know
They say, "Hello, "
I miss you so, wish you were here"
