Deuteronomy 2:34
And we captured all his cities at that time and devoted to destruction every city, men, women, and children. We left no survivors.
They say..that most of this was boasting like their enemies they prone to boast about victories.
Did God say "...let my people go...."then they added threats ..snake tricks..death came
God said ...let my people go...
it strange a slave people freed became such oppressors...it happens
Neighbour hood bullies ..like those sang about by `Dylan` on Album `infidel's...`
HE`s... THE NEIGHBOUR HOOD BULLIED...Israel
When sports teams use the language of “totally slaughtering” ..We killed them..it was a riot...taking about `Others `..their opponents. The land has “rest from war” (Joshua 21:44), later we read Joshua says nations still remain in Israel’s midst (23:12); Judges 1-2 regularly repeats “they could not drive them out.”
Its the narrative of the moment...it brings into question big issues around God of love.
YET OFTEN ITS REPEATED...
Neighborhood Bully
His enemies say he's on their land
They got him outnumbered about a million to one
He got no place to escape to, no place to run
He's the neighborhood bully.
He's criticized and condemned for being alive
He's not supposed to fight back, he's supposed to have thick skin
He's supposed to lay down and die when his door is kicked in
He's the neighborhood bully.
He's wandered the earth an exiled man
Seen his family scattered, his people hounded and torn
He's always on trial for just being born
He's the neighborhood bully.
