Wednesday in late November some good news

Let's pray for Syria
LordJesus bring justice to the people
May mercy be evident between all people
Peace return to all living there
 amen
So Hull City my hometown team got to another semi-final of footie competition.
hopefully we can go one step further. On the back of this game ,they've worked hard enough to get to this stage. There is plenty of whats called Spirit, were going to need a lot of it over the next two months and possibly through rest of the premier league season.
Hull City's hero was Jakupovic, who produced a number  saves before taking centre stage saving again in the penalty shoot-out. It was the third time in 15 months that City's keeper has ensured progress on penalties in the League Cup and presses his claims for a Premier League recall when the Tigers travel to Middlesbrough on Monday local to myself here in the grim north

HOPEFULLY THE ARC OF THE MORAL UNIVERSE IS SHORTER THAN THE TIME IT'LL TAKE me to stop smiling about beating Newcastle

Nov 29, 2016

It's freezing cold thoughts from a northern Tuesday afternoon

So very cold here in the grim north but what you expect in winter
However the cold is cutting at present
On with the long Johns and thermal tops
Eating sensible

Hopeless at reading
 just can't finish a book
 l procrastinate and ponder
Same with watching T.V.
End up stopping getting a cuppa and starting again

Pray constantly for Syria
What do you feel like when prayers appear to not be answered

Constantly pray for justice as this is what many want and are committed to still attempting to gain.
Mercy is also part of my prayers for Syria, as enemies need to demonstrate forgiveness and mercy towards each other.
Then Peace we all need to see peace return to a land.
Land where the fathers of my faith, the Christian tradition,
had sand run threw their toes as the our New Testament was written.

Watched a programme about James Foley last evening
True gent and sadly killed by terrorists

Don't feel so cold now as l battle on in a winter Tuesday afternoon

The Theology of Kevin Waller this day

So this day as normal l am going to stay the course.
Do my very best to be authentic in what l believe
Some believers try to bridge their faith by taking on worldly views and following lead not Biblical nor scripture based, often the only result is watered down theology.
Often we get compromised and become a poor reflection of who God really is.
I am trying to be more literal, due in part to my circumstances reading reflecting lot further.
Solid in my not beliefs. Hope this blog and my wrestling ramblings demonstrate this.
Jesus is the same yesterday, today and forever.
 He doesn’t change.
He is the same today as He was back in the day when He was on earth.
How l view others is important accepting others espically those very
visible in this wretched community although hard,
It I s where l am placed at present.
This day my choices are these mentioned above.

Pray for each other,
dialogue share,
accept as you pilgrim in your faith journey

more resilience

"A collection of books written by a drunk on a boat being tossed around on a rough sea"

so said someone about the bible at times l feel the person was correct understand it was Charles Spurgeon

talking about the order and verse l thinkeither way it difficult at times to wrestle with stuff but we should and must read ,reflections, the whole process, and perform as we show our commitment to the message by acting on the Lords instruction

We've handled pressure at times, sometimes we haven't.
It worked out that way on Saturday.
We hit brick walls at times against WBA.

hull city manager talking about the game on Saturday we drew 1-1 still in relegation battle

a Saturday in late November

Crossbill on the moors
a few birds to cheer up
 a freezing cold
 Saturday morning

Despite the bitter cold the birds are looking for food,
Humans out observing them and sending pictures for others to view.
Simple pleasure so popular
my son has introduced myself to this joy

Yellow Hammer one of my favourite birds
but the head l see is red so
intincite the coulers
we witness
beautiful noises that echo around the country

Further as it Saturday and l turn to the football stories
Potential buyers of my hometown club Hull City end interest in takeover following talks with
the chairperson Ehab Allam
today l hold no hope for victory sorry to say feel the team not taking any real interest
so l am taking less interest

Timeout for me time to read
Must try and finish at least one book this week end

here l was apprenticed

Here l was apprenticed into a trade, but the most teaching received was being apprenticed into life. Learning from a survivor of Russian concentration camp.
Here was teenager working for old man who gave me a trade, friendship, some wisdom.
Things still take with me now as this guy pilgrims.
Sure did not know what was ahead tears,
failed relationships,
Joys, cups of tea, great walks, fantastic friends.
Joy unlimited,
heartache like most others.
All happened in Hull, 'one letter from Hell'.

Wish you was here
its Paradise
 weathers warm
 l say hello
wish l could touch your face.

Nov 24, 2016

wish.....

Wish you were here,
wish you could see this place
Wish you were near,

I wish I could touch your face
The weather's nice, it's paradise
It's summertime all year and there's some folks we know
They say, "Hello",

I miss you so, wish you were here.

But me,` wish l was somewhere else`
instead of this cold northern coastal town
anyway one should be grateful not in a place worse then this place.
For that l am really grateful, its  pretty cold here also isolated place.
When winter comes you feel more detached.
Cut off ignored, heavy feelings.

"A collection of books written by a drunk on a boat being tossed around on a rough sea"

rereading the book

does the Bible need to be reread again and may that lead to each of us deconstructing ourselves
this sets us on a course which we can faithfully say is very hard and difficult
so l accept you need to be grounded in your faith before answering this question
Also need around you others who may wish to journey with you or be understanding and supportive
that alone is going to make it impossible for many
No l am not talking about losing your religion/faith/who you are.
talking about examination of what you accept
Without regressing back to the 1st century in which the New Testament was written,
We must unfold what it means to love and build people up
here now in our time and generation.
Below is an image that has been shared when others done this.
Disarming-Scripture-Chart
The original culture in which the Bible was written
very important what we accept the bible is?
"A collection of books written by a drunk on a boat being tossed around on a rough sea".
OUR CULTURE REMOVED FROM ANYTHING RELIGIOUS
Need to be reliant upon the holy spirit to lead us
prayer constantly for discernment as a primary

flooding again in UK

Whole of the UK appears to have had a issue with the weather problem.Gales Floods wind and rains,(all new stuff) my old town of Todmorden was flooded again,
so the purple rinse brigade will not be chuffed as they drink the lentil soup and chew on the tofu burgers.

The `poverty circle` still gets wider
with many talking about `in-work` poverty
however it reinvented many are still just about managing
so many are worse of then 10 years ago with more worse times ahead l wish more protest would take place for myself people just been sleepwalking into worse situations
`i predict a riot`

few rules about trouble in Paradise

Racist comment sparks off Labour Party club brawl

Man who intervened to diffuse argument charged with attempted murder

The spark that caused the argument which resulted in a stabbing incident inside the Labour Party Club in Qormi on November 6 was a racist remark intended to insult the wife of one of the patrons, a court heard today as the compilation of evidence got underway.
The man charged with the attempted murder of Alfred Felice is Alfred Galea, a 46-year-old baker from Qormi who allegedly intervened to diffuse the argument which arose between the victim and a third party, only to end up facing criminal proceedings.
Taking the witness stand, the victim testified that he had been drinking at the club on that Sunday afternoon when his wife Sawsen joined him and began to dance. At one point, another patron, Joseph Muscat, went up to the woman and asked her whether she was a Muslim. When the woman answered in the affirmative, Mr Muscat remarked that her God was different from the Christian God, whilst commenting that she ought to wear a veil.

Trouble in my beloved Malta. It appears very unnecessary when people don`t behave, always spirals gets worse, here in my version of Paradise often witness all people enjoying each others presence.
Also with being a holiday and tourist venue, people got to get on together.
The Law system appears very old and unable often to deal with this truffles of issues.
Comments made are so childlike, and then a penknife is used to create worse situation.
all we often need to do in life is live simply
love God
Love one another
Follow Jesus
it really could be that simple

WINTER ARRIVING

Go for a walk and reflect
take in the blue of the sky
 The coulers of winter
 Red on few leaves
Dirt green and the grey of the clouds

. . .Are they just like falling leaves
Who give themselves away
From dust to dust from seed to shear
And to another day
If i could have one wish on earth
Of all i can conceive
T'would be to see another spring
And bless the falling leaves . . .
 . . . . . .John Denver . . . .

Talk to god and listen for a casual reply
then be guided as you do the correct thing.

Most people are Ok you know

and life is always hard

WHEN YOU LOOKING FORWARD TO TV

the television comedy Outnumbered, one of my very Favorite programmes is returning to TV screens after a three-year break. the Brockman family reunite for special Christmas episode.
The Stars include Hugh Dennis, Claire Skinner, Tyger Drew-Honey, Daniel Roche and Ramona Marquez will all resume their roles. hoping it will be shown on the BBC and perhaps other episodes will follow.
Set on Boxing Day, they will face all sorts of problems, from the car to the Second World War, as they try to take on a special mission for Granddad.
You can only begin to imagine the lines and issues.
"I can't wait to re-join our TV nucleus and what better place to experience the full joy of family life than stuck in the family car."

This is family (as most of my favourite programmes are about) comedy, love it really grown up on the TV screens and its pleasant humour well scripted and quite deep at times.
other family programmes would include Sopranoes,Simpsons,
also like shows like the `wire`
Tried to read a book at weekend but found it difficult ,so l put my records on and drifted.

Hull goalkeeper David Marshall wins premier league award

Congratulations at last to David Marshall the Hull city goal keeper???? Who just won the 'Premier leagues clean kit award' his kit has not been cleaned for 8 weeks as it never dirty
Marshall who dropped the award when it was handed over to him said
"Mum always used to say don't get mucky" that advice stayed with me throughout my career.
Well at least we got some good news

Nov 18, 2016

proper HUMBUG

This worries me when person of intellect  post in mid November posters about 37 days to go to Christmas

Are we scriptural or biblical correct in celebrating such commercialism?
Should those truly following Jesus be anymore involved in such a vain and money making event?
Is it now surly the time for those believers to make a stand a hurting stand and speak out against the evil that binds many monetary ways and blinds them to the truth and beauty of the gospel?

Such a lot of misery heaped upon often very poor people who get dragged along with all the hard sell evident at this time of the year
which in my view arrived earlier this year!

People and often  the young, and children, get exposed to a lie, then they do not trust the Church with the correct message.
Can you blame them?
Those at front of this lie are often those gifted with chance to share the message of Christ.
We need to consider making a stand,....this is the parting of the way

Wait until 23rd of December, then add the voice of the church to address in the name of `Jesus the Christ`, real voice about relevance issue poverty, winter, cold fact that many are without ,at this time of the year.

That's what we are supposed to shout about!
Not join in a commercialism  plot to rob people.
imagine a Church that speaks into the situation of greed at this time of the year.

........imagine cause it not going to do that

Church ...thinking of leaving?
Go ahead ...come back when they sorted the mess out.
while away read your Bible.
Pray to the holy spirit.
Find some fellowship.

Nov 17, 2016

social media has changed perhaps the way we communicate with each other
and often it become for the young and children a weapon in bullying others
despite the false stuff and the fake news stories

it still a great tool we have facebook
so my family and friends know how l am and can tell me stuff
E-mails help us share information
we can tweet bits about our opinion and other news
Also listening to great speakers via I-pod

But it about us how we use the stuff
like a cyclist got to know the difference between Red and Green
If you dont can be quite dangerous

  • so its Hull City V Sunderland having beaten them in the last four matches

lets hope we can do the same again come full time at the weekend

  • missing long walks and nature trails with my son we had so much fun last weekend

  • really not good at reading

well l am
but what l mean is how much time l give to the exercise
got six books that working through at present

so is life really just about our time on Earth?
then what happens and all this talk about
(based on further writings) about New Heaven/New Earth
who inhabits here and how do you and I get there
faith journeys about lot more then that
its about how you pilgrim now in the present
signposting others to the light

Worried look at these people

l was worried about my hair,
clothes l want,
food to buy,
all my concerns fall away
look at these beautiful people in such conditions

Syria after a bombing they walk around doing only God could know
Me and you
Sure we got issues further concerns
Perhaps like myself you are unsure
Maybe Love has not come visiting
Perhaps a friend not been so close
Or even you or a loved one is ill
Worried look here and my stupid fears get laid to rest
As the world turns and yet another bombing campaign begins
God let love reign down and replace hatred and evil that attacks these wounded souls
Oh Lord hear this prayer

LIFE IS NOT LIKE . .

life is not like the cinema
not like your favourite TV drama
it doesn`t sound like the singer in the song
it not like you read in the glossy magazines

it much
much harder then that

your life should be a movie
So we could all watch it
then we could understand YOU better
life is not like in the cinema
it much harder then that
only YOU can live your LIFE

he already there waiting

sometimes we imagine that Jesus is going to arrive
that he will come to our meeting
that when our worships good he will attend and bless us
Of course its all wrong and misunderstood
Jesus already there waiting even when we close the door and switch off the light

Learnt so much from my family

Last week caught up spent time with my son for five days
Lot of nature tracking
Walking
Watching wildlife
Few odd TV programmes
Awful lot listening to each other and music
Great joy of cooking

Later at weekend visited My brother and connected with Mum
Flowers and large cream cake
Family they don't pick us
Life a challenge
But family signposts to greater stuff even when challanged arrive
It not indestructible but better together

a blessing

“Most of all, I want to emphasize to you, Mr. President-elect, that we now are going to want to do everything we can to help make you succeed, because if you succeed, then the country succeeds,”

President Obama to President-elect Trump
after their meeting at the White House

To make you succeed everything.... we can.
Has anyone said that to yourself.
Nor l do not recall hearing those words myself perhaps never been in such an occasion, but that`s a blessing from one person to another.
Bless us each day sometimes, the minor stuff is very important.looking out for each other simple gesture, kind word, all bless others
God bless you.

That phone call F.A. you keep wanting to make?

Looking forward

O

It's Hull V Sunderland on Saturday
A match we must win I live very close to Sunderland
so it's important to have some weird result and victory over my neighbours
We have won so many recent games
Still it `only a game` l keep reminding myself
Oh but you may have to remind me again come late Saturday evening

Deconstructing but still believe.

As you faith journey today
What are you tethered along
What ripples will come your way
Are you journeying alone
With a select group
Or in a bigger community
How it going?

Should we feel need to deconstruct on our faith journeys!
Can we have doubts ,Believe, still even when find no answers?
Can our struggle be helpful
Why can some not admit simply, do not have all the answers
I have friends who are still on baby food spirituality
will not face tough questions about own faith
Deconstructing faith and the tough stuff we face ,Well difficult, that helpful to others.
Struggle sometimes me as person, can be awkward and difficult
It's me
That's all it is  . . .me

It's you also . .It's a journey

Deconstructing

Do we need to deconstruct our faith journeys
Can we have doubts and still when find no answers
Believe
Can our struggle be helpful
Why can we not admit we simply do not have all the answers
I have friends who are still on baby food spirituality and will not face tough questions about own faith

Deconstructing faith and the tough stuff we face
Is difficult but helpful to others
I struggle sometimes
I can be awkward and difficult

It's me
That's all it is me
Humanity sometimes gets exposed
It's you also
It's a journey

Also tonight's full moon is bigger because the moons nearer then last 65 years or so

Saturday footie with a differance

A Doctor from Hull created a new team for refugees who have arrived in Hull from
"some of the most difficult situations imaginable".
Now, the players train twice a week on pitches next door to the KC football Stadium and have high hopes of developing careers in the game.
the BBC Match of the Day TV cameras will be showing something of the events on telly soon
it a great news story and something to cheer us all up

the life we live
may not be every thing we want
often its better then we imagine and better then others

thank God for your blessings this day

life is not easy it not like in the cinema
 but it often fine

God bless you this day
you cant always get what you want
but you just might
get what you need
