sometimes the Prayers is just a soul lamenting.

Oh Lord where did the feeling go

Oh Lord I never felt so low

Now the skirts hang so heavy around your head

That you never knew you were young

Because you played chance with a lifetime's romance

And the price was far too long

Oh Lord where did the feeling go

Oh Lord I never felt so low

Prayer, well can be lot of things, struggle when some say cant pray.
its a wail hidden inside, finds release, perhaps its a shout to the top not understanding where the top may be or if another higher force listening. Expression of beauty often use in Gods great cathemeral of nature.

Its that regret perhaps forces you to lose sleep. or become further anxious. Complaint about the big guy in the sky let you down again, its shake of fist yeah done all of these regret but had period when it didn't add up shake a fist at God thru my anger.
Sadness deep form of lamenting something. Here words may not form.
Dylan, again Dylan, uses this example in a song called, every grain of sand.
"in the hour of my deepest need
When the pool of tears beneath my feet floods every newborn seed
There's a dying voice within me reaching out somewhere
Toiling in the danger and the morals of despair"
Similar in tone to lamentations 3 -32-34, from `old testament` in the Bible, well worth your time to open and examine here's some verses …
For no one is cast off
    by the Lord forever.
Though he brings grief, he will show compassion,
so great is his unfailing love.
For he does not willingly bring affliction
    or grief to anyone.
Your words and how you feel is what the Lord wants to hear not just the struggles but that gasp at beauty where you find it, nature, song on the radio, person you looked at when you both sup a cuppa someplace, child watching a cartoon.
Prayers a transmission and communication between you and the one who listens.

MAYBE WE WON`T MEET AGAIN

. . . she got a postcard in the mail
That just said Heaven, with a picture of the ocean and the beach
The simple words he wrote her
Said he loved her
How he'd hold her if his arms would reach
Wish you were here, wish you could see this place
Wish you were near,Wish I could touch your face
The weather's nice, it's paradise
It's summertime all year and there's some folks we know
They say, "Hello, "
I miss you so, wish you were here"
