WAS ASKED RECENTLY.. Around Emotional literacy ( Term that`s heavy carrier).
Anyway was asked, Can Emotional literacy, be driving force in persons development. Would this be an explanation for becoming stunted in childhood.
WELL I am not that educated alone in this field, neither is it my expertise, as adjective the except wording is fairly new, becoming more `practice sounding` in late 99 into the mid 2009.
Mental illness in my own view, is much overused, and Emotional literacy is not correctly understood.
Becoming Detached, More isolation , lack of `social Cohesion/Modality, limited services, poverty, plus education are all factors.
In YCW we used to work on holistic framework of leisurely pursuits, emotional development, physical development and spiritual growth.
Then we cut out Spiritual growth, worked harder at Sport and games, ignored emotional development.
Cut backs on programmes where leisure was vital.Sold playing fields, closed centres, Secularists became concerned with `educational achievement`, above Holistic growth.
Now we have kids with low self esteem, Lack of self resilience, bullied, strive to be active on social media, but cannot hold a 1-1 conversation. Plugged into Mobile I.T. network yet never smelt `Vinyl `,nor played a record to a group.
Missing talking to a large group about feelings, music they love, deeper stuff internal.
Seldom get out of own streets, Fear is huge issue.
Faith community which were places that groups gathered to form ,storm and become community. Become places we targeted for closure.
Here Individuals mixed with people of different ages, backgrounds, and shared beliefs.
We no longer argue,debate,agree,ponder,reflect.
We teach people to `google the answer.`
As long as the answers the one we want to direct them towards.
Nearly 1 million people in last three years have change their gender, in last 3 years alone.
One further example of us hiding behind a headline ,while ignoring, failing to identify real concerns.
