It seemed that the pregnant police detective Marge Gunderson from 'Fargo' would forever be the most memorable character of Frances McDormand's acting career. But now I'm not so sure. Mildred Hayes, the heroine from 'Three Billboards', is a serious contender.
But the dark...or is it just Grim...film left me confused.
Some called parts of film humour....
This might well be the critics expert opoinates .
Mildred Hayes is a divorced single mother, living with her son on the outskirts of a small, rural town. She had a daughter too, sadly we soon discover, was raped, then killed on a quiet mountain road not far from home. Frustrated by the lack of progress of the investigation, Mother decides to rent three dilapidated billboards, publicly accusing the local police chief (Woody Boyd from Cheers) of incompetence. By doing so, she attracts the attention of the media, angers almost the entire town and causes a succession of increasingly violent actions.
Some suggested film is about big issues grief, anger, revenge and violence, although been written also it is extremely funny.l personally did not grasp that.....maybe for sure l am in wrong place when observing the art... Above all because of Mildred Hayes' stubborn character and her ability to verbally humiliate others.

But it incomplete....anger behaves anger ...hatred grows...awful stuff witness ...complex narrative of the other characters ..just hurts.
It really hurts because see little in depth of people portrayed.
I know loved by critics but mixed views from other watched this...maybe life does not dish out correct justice. But bleak story here just promotors anger..injustice and hatred.
Are we in some places this far gone.
I ask honestly.
Hope l am correct in feeling this projects incorrect state.
