Being misunderstood by the Church is not a new thing

It begins in 1891, a year after Van Gogh died, when a postman discovers an undelivered letter the artist wrote to his brother Theo, and sends his very reluctant, very drunk son to deliver it — a task that will prove difficult. The postman's son discovers that Theo died soon after Vincent did, and then tries to find others who knew him, realizing as he goes that the death that was said to be a suicide, may not have been so cut and dried.

Vincent, apart from being a misunderstood human being, and later a great Painter. He was a street worker kind of, his own writings display this.
In his poverty stricken community he would place himself along side the vulnerable. Painting portraits and using the money to provide a meal for those poor among the community.
The Church became embarrassed by him bringing these people into the worship community. he felt isolated further his behaviour became issue for his pastor father plus others in his family.Eventually his mental health issue became more evident Vincent took his own life.
'Being misunderstood by the Church
 is not a new thing.
Being rejected by a worship community
that no new thing either'.

. . . she got a postcard in the mail
That just said Heaven, with a picture of the ocean and the beach
The simple words he wrote her
Said he loved her
How he'd hold her if his arms would reach
Wish you were here, wish you could see this place
Wish you were near,Wish I could touch your face
The weather's nice, it's paradise
It's summertime all year and there's some folks we know
They say, "Hello, "
I miss you so, wish you were here"
