It wasn't to be on Saturday night for Hull City, as Grant McCann's Tigers battled valiantly against Premier Everton before losing 3-2 after extra time to bow out of the FA Cup.
The Tigers produced a stirring performance in front of owner-in-waiting Acun Ilicali, who watched his first City game in the flesh ahead of his £30m takeover of the Championship club.
City fans will hope for good news on the takeover front this week ahead of Sunday's lunchtime showdown with Stoke City at the MKM Stadium when the battle for crucial league points resumes.
