Snodgrass' return brought the biggest cheer of the night from City's 5,000 travelling fans inside the Etihad Stadium. Not since the opening day of last season, when making a league debut for the Tigers after arriving from Norwich in a £7m deal, had the 28-year-old been seen in competitive action and the away fans made their appreciation clear.
"I need to take my hat off to these Hull City fans," added Snodgrass. "They have stuck by me and wished me luck and the reception I got on Tuesday was incredible.
"I want to repay those fans at Hull because they have stuck by me. This is why I am working hard; to show these fans what I can do."
