Statistics from Public Health England place the city among the top 20 worst places, with 876 people per every 100,000 being admitted to Hull Royal Infirmary for alcohol-related conditions during 2013-14.
The data puts Hull in 16th place across the UK, behind the likes of Chesterfield, Wakefield and Nottingham.
