The Church speaks into the situation many are finding themselves in,Poverty tough choices.
but l have to ask
when are we going to move from debate and statements to tough choices?
when we approach the subject of ACTION
Action where the goverment and its supporters are living in fear!
fear that if they do not listen they could face severe consiquences
they would listen then !
‘We often hear talk of hard choices. Surely few can be harder than that faced by the tens of thousands of older people who must “heat or eat” each winter.’
And in a highly political intervention, the Church leaders add: ‘We must, as a society, face up to the fact that over half of people using foodbanks have been put in that situation by cut backs to and failures in the benefit system, whether it be payment delays or punitive sanctions.’
The bishops conclude: ‘There is an acute moral imperative to act. This is a national crisis, and one we must rise to.
‘We call on government to do its part: acting to investigate food markets that are failing, to make sure that work pays, and to ensure that the welfare system provides a robust last line of defence against hunger.’
The letter comes after Mr Cameron rejected the complaints of Archbishop Nichols yesterday.
The Prime Minister declared welfare reforms ‘morally right’ and insisted they have actually given people ‘hope’ by encouraging them into work and off a life of benefits dependency.
He wrote: ‘Let’s get the facts straight. Archbishop Nichols’ claims that the basic safety net no longer exists are simply not true.
this is the time to for action
Because its time you realised...
That this is the time
This is the time for action (time for action)
This is the time to be seen (time to be seen)
This is the time for action
Time to be seen

MAYBE WE WON`T MEET AGAIN
. . . she got a postcard in the mail
That just said Heaven, with a picture of the ocean and the beach
The simple words he wrote her
Said he loved her
How he'd hold her if his arms would reach

The simple words he wrote her
Said he loved her
How he'd hold her if his arms would reach
Wish you were here, wish you could see this place
Wish you were near,Wish I could touch your face
The weather's nice, it's paradise
It's summertime all year and there's some folks we know
They say, "Hello, "
