HULL is the crack cocaine and heroin capital of Yorkshire and the Humber, despite £8.2m having been spent on tackling the problem last year.

Figures obtained by the Mail show fewer people are being admitted to Hull Royal Infirmary with drug and alcohol issues.

However, a report compiled by Hull City Council shows drug injecting rates of heroin and crack cocaine are more than three times the UK average, and almost double any other area across Yorkshire and the Humber.
