They have now been charged with persistently making use of a public communication network to cause annoyance, inconvenience and anxiety.
They will face court on the charges later this month.
The Hull Daily Mail reports charges relating to views allegedly posted to people with connections to their former school.
The pair quit Westcott Primary School in December after a two-month investigation into their conduct.
They were involved in a thread on the social networking site in which insulting messages about children at the school and east Hull residents were posted.
During the online conversation, Miss Roberts referred to people from east Hull as "thick" and "inbred".
The Facebook thread sparked anger among parents and in the community and Nyanza Roberts was quickly suspended from the school while an investigation took place. A week later, Ms Johnson, the then head, was also suspended after an emotional public meeting in which parents vented their fury over the social networking thread.
The investigation into their conduct, and that of two other teachers also involved in the thread, was handed to the local authority by the chair of governors Mary Wallace.

it is simply not bright to abuse in the way the 2 teachers have
they ridiculed the parents of children they are supposed to love
imparting knowledge and trying to get them to improve the life's they live
It is privilege
so why abuse them on a social network
what abuse was going on when they and other teachers met in the classroom and discussed the client base
