Saturday in scarboro was like other places Armed forces thank you day.
some interesting debate!
why are peace keepers always so scruffy and dirty?
perhaps a piece of soap should be a joining gift.
only saying how l see it!
but again the mist was in and the low rain so it was not like it should be.
l really hate this weather when you cant plan anything

"Michael Jackson was a brilliant troubadour for his generation, a genius whose music reflected the passion and creativity of an era. His artistry and magnetism changed the music landscape forever. We have been profoundly affected by his originality, creativity and amazing body of work. The entire Sony family extends our deepest condolences to his family and to the millions of fans around the world who loved him."
Micheal was only 50

yes he does
kings of Leon on the song cold desert wrote the following
Jesus don't love me
no one ever carried my load.
these words have not come across quite the way it was meant.
The writer had been feeling down after experimenting with cocaine
as a believer he is trying to get across the tension between having faith and coping with life's desert days.
Well guess what we all get desert days.
We have to journey....God needs to be recognised now in this day.
When Kevin Waller first became a christian l felt this sense in my life.
Whatever has happened its never gone away even when,
l `m on the corner waiting for the light to come on

noodles swings and cannons
a 10p packet of noodles can bring so much gratitude from a group of badminton guys.
they say that young boys are failing in the system l wonder how much underemployment and schemes for cheap labour effect expectations
playing on the swing sometimes play be it in the park on the coast or even in the gym can be great way of breaking down barriers
history Chris one of our young people is very good with sharing knowledge about history and we have shared experiances in york Whitby and on seafront this is the group sat on a cannon from 1875 captured from a Russian ship of the east coast

corner kids v stoop veiw kids
corner kid is one who can argue back and create own boundaries,
does not respect/recognise the rules.
will answer back tend to be sometimes angry, mouthy, aggressive, struggle to understand pain and own development.
step/stoop kids can be respectful of boundaries, can discuss own views
understand others ideas concepts and agree to rules.
Sometimes young people can be both
sometimes can be neither.
These generalisations can inform us better
just a thought l am sharing

emotional
sometimes l can feel my blood starting to boil
what can start just a chat and then values judgements all feelings take over and can hear my own voice gets raised
other times want to try and just get away quickly
...later on like now reflect and it does`t appear to have been that important..
as l have got older struggle with My emotional literacy...l recognise better at not getting so flustered .. but not sure that a good thing..so new tension
l am sure l still care as much
l am sure better at not showing it.?
but is that good or worse...

what we learn`t friday
been doing some residential training and exploring team work and building confidence
1;we learn`t that the weakest link is the one to set the pace that way any extra energy can be spent setting up camp and preparing meals.
2; Head count when start off, then keep together and finish the route as one team.
3; appoint a leader to make decisions and others must respect this role, only change if need when finish task.
Apply to life.
all learn`t on our fitness for life programme.

Shine on you crazy
Remember when you were young, you shone like the sun.
Now there's a look in your eyes, like black holes in the sky.
You were caught on the cross fire of childhood and stardom,
blown on the steel breeze.
Come on you target for faraway laughter, come on you stranger,
you legend, you martyr, and shine!.......
You reached for the secret too soon, you cried for the moon.
Threatened by shadows at night, and exposed in the light.
Well you wore out your welcome with random precision,
rode on the steel breeze.......
Come on you raver, you seer of visions, come on you painter,
you piper, you prisoner, and shine!
as well as hope it sings to me off lost potential and drug misuse.
you know what they can mean so many different things
Lrics are just worth being here to reflect upon.. a kinda modern Psalm.
next time l play a gig may find some place to have this on the playlist
the only other Pink Floyd song l have played at a gig is Money.
l can recall in the mid 70`s that being used in a service at Cott rd church?

Best way to Practice youthwork
The trouble with the young these days is that l am no longer young.
Well so l read this day, Sadly its often true.
l can remember when l was young, unknown to myself, so many of the adults around us allowed us to be...to just be... young or foolish, or a bit mad, often we were allowed to be... Talking at house group...Organising a disco, (where l first Deejayed)..Going on trips being driven there and allowed to be free...On organised camps....Walk around old abbey.
Adults in the background allowing us young ones to just be.....

church based?
People ask myself what other youth programmes do we run?
listening post a chance to offer a space to chat and share,
visits, days away, youth church, cage, event for ravers, soul and R`n`B nites,
badminton, Boxing, street presence ....
the individual counts.
the programmes are a chance to enforce that principle.
Is it Church?
l feel it has to be kinda, expressed in new, fresh, and challenging way.
a group of our young people JScottJ Pat Jordan doing simply their own thing in Church hall Friday
sorting out the technical stuff Bourgie and Pat
On the mic its MC Jammie
letting young people do own thing can be difficult and you get some tensions from those who feel we need to control young people
this example is challenging because we older adults have little knowledge /understanding of their scene
here our role is pure facilitation
Storms....huge weather variates at present
Huge winds brought chills waves and stormy conditions Despite this turmoil Got dressed, got out Excitement conversation's Pictures and...
MAYBE WE WON`T MEET AGAIN
That just said Heaven, with a picture of the ocean and the beach
The simple words he wrote her
Said he loved her
How he'd hold her if his arms would reach
Wish you were near,Wish I could touch your face
The weather's nice, it's paradise
It's summertime all year and there's some folks we know
They say, "Hello, "
